Who are we?
MeNTA is a group of people organizing free salsa evenings since Jul 22, 2010 which bases its foundation on the original group Media Noche. It is organized by students and non-students for everybody and takes place every Thursday from 21:00 to 01:00 at Tel Aviv University. The MeNTA model consists of two rules: (1) If YOU won't do it – it won't happen. (2) If you know something, teach someone.
MeNTA is lead by a core team of volunteers who dedicate hard work into having professional dance instruction and excellent sound and environment for dancing.
History
The concept was brought to life by Nir Krakowski and Anna Reznikovski with the help of student union representatives Ofer Sheffer and Gilad Arditi. To be joined shortly by the founding team consisting of: Ariel Groenteman, Dekel Braunshtein, Rani Hod, Shaked Amar, Shunit Agmon, Yodi Shaharbani
From birth the media noche core team decided to hold yearly democratic elections to select its general manager and its artistic mangager. Previous general managers by order: Anna Reznikovski, Nir Krakowski, Maya Weinberg, Dekel Braunshtein. Previous artistic managers by order: Nir Krakowski, Lavi J. Shachar.
